(The development of youths into youth workers)
Training of Trainers in Paralimni, Cyprus (7-13 november 2025)
Our experience in Cyprus with NECI
The experience of Mario
"When I joined the Training of Trainers in Cyprus, I felt something click inside me. Even though I already had experience in youth work, this course pushed me to rethink everything: how I facilitate, how I structure a session, and how I connect with participants. The intensive programme, starting every morning at 09:30 and finishing around 19:00, truly challenged me to grow. One of the moments that shaped me the most was the ‘You Are the Trainer’ practice session. Applying pedagogical theories like Constructivism and Experiential Learning in real time made me understand the responsibility—and the beauty—of guiding young people through meaningful learning experiences.
Working side by side with youth workers from all over Europe reminded me why Erasmus+ is such a transformative programme. The intercultural evenings, the reflection buddies, even the coffee breaks became opportunities to learn and share. I returned home feeling more confident, more prepared, and more inspired to continue creating safe, inclusive, and impactful learning spaces. Erasmus+ doesn’t just train you; it changes the way you see yourself as an educator—and as a human being."

The experience of Ana
"Participating in the TOT1 in Cyprus was one of the most empowering professional experiences I’ve had. From the very first day, the training created a safe, supportive environment where every participant, regardless of background, could contribute and grow. The programme’s focus on social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and the practical application of learning theories pushed me to reflect deeply on my own practice. The session on ‘Me as a Learner’ was a turning point: understanding my own learning patterns helped me redesign the way I prepare activities for young people.
What impressed me the most was the ‘Developing by Sharing’ approach. Learning from peers, designing sessions together, and receiving feedback from experienced trainers made me realise how essential collaboration is in youth work. I also loved how Erasmus+ promotes visibility and dissemination; returning home and sharing my experience with our local community felt like completing the cycle of learning. This training reminded me that Erasmus+ is far more than mobility—it is a platform that empowers youth workers to create real social impact. I left Cyprus inspired, motivated, and ready for TOT2."
